Shopper EQ - Club Pallet Communication – Case Study

Business Challenge:

A branded manufacturer was seeking a step-change in growth and aimed to strengthen its strategic position with a key Retailer. The client needed to reassess pricing, packaging, display design, and the effectiveness of its product portfolio within the retail environment. The challenge was to uncover actionable insights that could unlock both immediate and long-term gains in shopper conversion.

Solution:

Shopper1st deployed its Shopper EQ approach—an integrated blend of behavioral audits, design analysis, and subconscious insight training. We conducted in-depth audits of packaging and display materials for the brand and its competitors, incorporating heat mapping to assess visual engagement. Each Claim and visual asset was evaluated through the Shopper Design lens, with effectiveness scored to highlight key areas of opportunity. A capstone Shopper Psychology workshop aligned the multi-functional team around how to win subconscious purchase decisions and delivered targeted design recommendations.

Impact:

Quantitative testing of new packaging and pallet display designs showed a +10–30% increase in Brand Choice versus competitive offerings. The client’s internal Packaging team has since embedded Shopper1st’s principles across their broader portfolio, creating a scalable model for improved design effectiveness. The result is both stronger retailer alignment and a measurable advantage in driving shopper preference.
